How to get nice skin around nails, and grow nails?

I usually chew the skin around my nail cuticle and I now want to have nice nails. I'm going to stop chewing my nails. I wanted to know if I should leave the skin alone and let it grow back or get clip it away somehow ? Are there any tips out there on how to have nice nails? How to get nice skin around nails, and grow nails?
Don't entirely leave the skin alone, but don't cut it, as it can lead to infection and a ragged look. Messing with your cuticles often also leads to horizontal ridges in your nails. Gently push them back instead. You can buy cream just for that skin, called cuticle cream.

For strength for your nails, I recommend trying Nutra Nail. Just follow the directions on the package. It works very well.

Also, moisturize your hands fairly often and massage lotion into your nails.

Some lip balms and ointments (such as C.O. Bigelow Rose ointment/balm and Aquaphor) make your nails look healthier, too.

The hardest part is just figuring out how to stop biting them. :]

I recommend that you don't attempt to leave the habit behind by getting acrylic nails, every woman I've ever met just goes back to biting them as soon as the acrylic nails come off, because their nails are so weak and damaged.

Hope I helped a bit and good luck. :]How to get nice skin around nails, and grow nails?
Do not clip the skin around your nails unless it is loose (can rip off or snag) that skin helps to keep infection out of the nail bed and the cuticle. to have healthy nails you should push back your cuticle never cut the cuticle unless you have a large amount of growth (again it keeps out infection or anything harmful) also using a cuticle oil, works wonders. when you file your nails only file in one direction or it can weaken your nails when you do this you are making small edges everywhere. A nail strengthener is best but you could also use a clear top coat, if you go with a strengthener follow the directions and know that it will take a little while for you to see the complete results(strengtheners aren't use once and have results of the perfect nails)
Push back your cuticles (that is what the skin around your nails is called) with something, and then clip is off or lotion it so its soft. Keep lotioning your hands over the next couple of weeks and it will soften up and look nice by itself.

Tips on how to have nice nails? Hmm....well if you want to stop chewing then probably file them, buffer them, and then put on polish. That should keep you from chewing them. And then when they are long and clean you wont even want to chew them.
Okay first of all Lotion is a huge yes for the nice skin around ur nails. Work REALLY hard NOT to pick at the skin. If you lotion your hands and dont chew or pick at your nails you'll have nicer nails in only a matter of weeks....
pre-natals and cuticle oil.

works wonders.

pre-natals also help your skin and hair.
use lotion! lol
